50th Columbia Community Service Campaign Underway
President Levine has invited all members of the Teachers College community to serve as volunteers for the Columbia Community Service (CCS), Inc., appeal, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Volunteers will be invited to the Campaign Kickoff/50th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, November 11. The celebration will take place in Low Rotunda at Columbia and will run from 3 to 5 p.m.
Volunteers for the CCS appeal will be responsible for circulating initial campaign information and posting promotional material in strategic places throughout the College, fielding questions from faculty and staff, following up on initial solicitations and implementing any other effects deemed necessary to assure success of the campaign.
President Levine is again serving as cochair of the annual appeal this year.
Last year's appeal raised more than $212,000 from all parts of the University community. CCS distributes the contributions to 31 community agencies, as well as to the United Way of New York City.
Since the cost of the labor is supported by Columbia University, Barnard College and Teachers College, all of the money raised goes to the support of various community agencies selected by CCS.
CCS serves the entire community within 30 blocks of the University. The CCS provides financial support for all types of human service agencies within the borders of the University community.
If you have any further questions or if you wish to volunteer, call Donald Underwood, CCS Coordinator for TC, at ext. 3722.
