Andrew S. Dolkart Writes About The Architectural History of Teachers College
In his new book, Morningside Heights: A History of Its Architecture & Development, published by Columbia University Press, Andrew S. Dolkart talks about Teachers College as "one of America’s great architectural complexes." Dolkart, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Columbia University School of Architecturecture, discusses the architectural history of Teachers College, which was built between 1893 and 1924. The book also includes information on the different architects at the time, the various building structures and their magnificence such as Milbank Memorial Chapel, as well as other architectural complexes in Morningside Heights, which include Columbia University, Barnard, and St. John the Divine.
Recently, The New York Observer published a column in its January 25 edition written by Michael Wise, entitled "Athens on the Upper West Side: Stephanopoulos' New Asylum," about Dolkart's book. See the column for additional information.
