Antoinette Quarshie
Antoinette Quarshie is a sixth grade teacher at the Riverdale Country School as well as a doctoral student at TC. She has written a collaborative paper on school bodies, subjectification and desire using collective biography/memory work methodologies. The paper has been accepted for publication in the prestigious journal Qualitative Inquiry. Antoinette presented the paper along with her collaborators, David Connor and Nicki Newton, at the American Educational Researchers Association conference in Chicago in April.
In addition, last June, Antoinette was informed that an essay she wrote was accepted for publication as a chapter in a book on the life and work of Audre Lorde, an African American poet, teacher, and activist. Antoinette credits Riverdale parents for helping to make this possible, as she was able to spend time conducting research in Grenada thanks to a Parent Association faculty grant that she received two summers ago.
