The Department of Biobehavioral Sciences played a major role in a new study that examined the effects of aerobic exercise on persons infected with HIV.  Professor Ronald De Meersman participated in the investigation that found moderate aerobic exercise for 10 weeks, three times per week for 45 minutes per session, significantly increased function of the nervous system and circulation in those infected with the disease.  The Department's adjunct assistant professor Adrienne Zion and instructor Gregory Gates also participated in the project.

The article, entitled "Moderate Aerobic Exercise Improves Cardiovascular and Nervous System Function in HIV+ Subjects," appeared in the April 3 edition of News-Medical.Net.
