Cynthia Jensen, Director of Education Partnerships for Teachers College Innovations (TCI), recently moderated a panel titled "Empowering New Teachers for Success: Building Capacity, Quality and Retention" at the first summer National Staff Development Conference for school-based staff developers in Chicago. The interactive session introduced TCI's New Teacher Academy, a year-long program designed to build support for and encourage the retention of new teachers in school districts throughout the U.S., to an audience of 45 teachers and staff development specialists from school districts across the country.  The program has previously been implemented in Georgia, Texas, New York, and Washington, D.C.
