Writer and project leader of "Teaching the Levees" at Teachers College Columbia University, Margaret Smith Crocco and the curriculum team is preparing to accompany Spike Lee's "When the Levees Broke", which struck great interest to Dimitri Vassilaros.
Margaret Crocco said, "We are writing to assure you that this project has no goal other than to promote open, honest and constructive educational dialogue among students of all political views about a wide variety of issues. In fact, many of the lessons included in the curriculum focus on the very issues he predicted would be missing from our work -- including engineering, local government responsibility and emergency evacuation plans."
