Washington Post columnist looks at a TC Press book featuring Comer and Levin

Five Great Educators who Make a Difference
If you were assembling the leading American thinkers and writers about education, you would have to include these five," writes Washington Post columnist Jay Mathews. He's talking about TC Trustee James Comer, creator of the school and systemwide intervention known as the Comer Process; TC education economist Henry Levin, creator of the Accelerated Schools reform program; Deborah Meier, leader of the small school revolution, Theodore Sizer, founder of the Coalition of Essential Schools; and John Goodlad, author of A Place Called School and founder of the League of Small Democratic Schools. Essays by the five make up Those Who Dared: Five Visionaries Who Changed American Education, a new volume that will be released by Teachers College Press in November.
