Pallas was interviewed by WABC and New York 1 TV stations, and the New York Daily News, as saying students lackluster performance undermines the city’s claims of progress.
In the Daily News on December 8, Pallas was quoted as saying, “These results show that the state exams are not reliable. The national scores undermine the claims by the [Education] Department that students have been making progress."
