Alumnus to be First-ever Policy Analyst at Community Colleges Association
As program director, Christopher M. Mullin's work will support Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national, multiyear initiative funded in part by the Lumina Foundation for Education aimed at improving student success through data-driven analysis.
Prior to joining AACC, Mullin's work and academic preparation focused on the ways state legislation and fiscal policy affect postsecondary education systems, with a specific focus on community colleges. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Illinois Education Research Council, which is charged with providing policy research for the state's P-20 Council, and also worked as assistant research professor at Southern Illinois University.
His new position at AACC is funded by a three-year grant from Lumina Foundation. Mullin received a master’s degree in curriculum and teaching from Teachers College in 2005. He earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Florida.
