Letter to TC Faculty by Margaret Crocco
As my faculty colleague, you need no reminder that the students at Teachers College are the best of the best. Every day, we see how their commitment, dedication, and curiosity make teaching here so rewarding. Year after year, we witness our students arriving, eager to make the world a better place, and leaving as powerful agents of change. This transformative process is why I teach here, and it is why I and so many other faculty members give regularly to the Annual Fund.
By closing the gap between tuition revenues and the true cost of a TC education, the Annual Fund is a reliable source of current operating dollars — used across campus — for financial aid, to support research, and enhance the community and campus.
At TC, there is no greater symbol of enduring contribution to the College’s educational vision than Maxine Greene. That is why TC has chosen to recognize those who give regularly to the Annual Fund for five or more years with membership in the Maxine Greene Society.
Faculty who give — and give regularly — provide strong testimony, both to external funders and the larger TC community, of their support for this institution, above and beyond the important work they do day in and day out.
Maxine Greene encourages us to imagine the world as if it were otherwise. Her legacy is just one part of the long tradition of excellence at the College. Supporting students and the work of Teachers College helps us continue that good work. I hope you will join me in contributing to the Annual Fund and beginning your own journey towards membership in the Maxine Greene Society.
Yours truly,
Margaret Crocco
