New York, NY – Innovations in International Education is the theme of the first TEDxTeachersCollege Conference on Friday, March 23.
TED is a nonprofit organization started in 1984 as a conference about new ideas from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
TEDxTeachersCollege is an independently organized event, licensed by TED. The student run event seeks to be a platform for leading professionals, educators, policymakers, and students to share their passions and experiences regarding education and its critical role in achieving social justice at the international level. TEDxTeachersCollege will feature 20 live and additional video talks by prominent experts about some of the most important and relevant topics in the field of international education: Gender and Equity, Education Policy, Peace and Justice, and Technology and Media in Education.
TEDxTeachersCollege will include two sessions – morning and afternoon – for 100 attendees each, selected through applications, lottery, and personal invitations. The morning session at 8:30 a.m. will be devoted to Education Policy and Peace and Justice. The afternoon session at 2:30 p.m. will focus on the sub-themes of Technology and Education, and Gender and Equity. Although the event is public, applications to attend the event are now closed. However, we will provide a video simulcast of the event at Everett Lounge, Teachers College.
