Ronald A. Nicholson, a former Teachers College Trustee who served during the presidencies of Michael Timpane and Arthur Levine, passed away in early March. Nicholson was a successful real estate developer who had attended Harvard Law School and was a member of the Bar in both Massachusetts and New York. In 1998, he and his wife, Patricia (Emsworth-Rodgers) – a Teachers College graduate who earned her master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies – created the Nicholson Family Scholarship, which helped support students in TC’s Institute for Learning Technologies.

In addition to his support of Teachers College, Ronald Nicholson, who had served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the early 1950s, was a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, which seeks “to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.”

Nicholson is survived by his wife; by his three children, Leslie, James and Justin; and by several grandchildren.
