Alumnus Bobby Susser Wins Independent Music Award
“Action Moves People” is a collection of poems and songs that send “a strong message of self-understanding, self-empowerment and global oneness” and an “acknowledgement that we are all one people, regardless of race, religion, age and lifestyle,” according to the album’s website.
Susser, who received TC’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013, has been best known as a children’s songwriter since penning the 1971 anti-drug novelty song, “Once You Understand.” He has recorded 25 albums for children, including fundraisers such as “Bikewell Bear and St. Jude,” an anthem for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
