JPMorgan Chase & Co.is putting an important message where its money is.

Throughout September, users of Chase ATMs across New York City will read about REACH (Raising Educational Achievement Coalition of Harlem) at Teachers College, Columbia University and the bank’s $1 million donation to the program.

“JPMorgan Chase is proud to partner with Teachers College, Columbia University,” the notice says, in “bringing educational excellence to local children and families.”

A signature initiative of TC's Office of School and Community Partnerships, REACH leverages the resources of the College and Columbia University to provide comprehensive academic, social and health services to six public schools in Harlem. 

“Universities are unique in being able to offer expertise and services from many fields to help children succeed in school,” says Nancy Streim, Associate Vice President for School and Community Partnerships. “As an anchor institution in the community, it is also our moral obligation.”

Schools currently part of the network are the Margaret Douglas School, Harriet Tubman School, Heritage High School, Frederick Douglass Academy II, Columbia Secondary School and Teachers College Community School.
