Alumnus Nick Sousanis Coauthors Climate Change Comic for the Science Journal "Nature"
Nick Sousanis (EdD '14) co-authored a new comic, "The Fragile Framework: Can Nations Unite to Save the Earth?" published in a special edition of the science journal "Nature" to coincide with the UN climate summit in Parish through Dec. 11. Written with longtime climate writer Richard Monastersky, the comic examines the 25-year quest for a global climate treaty.
Sousanis received an interdisciplinary doctorate from TC. in 2014. Harvard University Press published his dissertation, "Unflattening," considered the first dissertation presented entirely in comic-book form. Highly influenced by the philosopher Maxine Greene, with whom Sousanis studied at TC, it argues for the importance of visual thinking in teaching and learning.
