Pallas in The Hechinger Report: "Governor Cuomo's Take on Teacher Tenure Wrong for New York Schools"
Writing in the Hechinger Report, Aaron Pallas, TC's Arthur I. Gates Professor of Sociology & Education, takes New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to task for his criticisms of state teachers. Pallas argues that, just as emergency room doctors cannot be held responsibility for the ultimate outcomes of patients with longterm chronic ills, so teachers cannot be blamed for the sudden drop in student proficiency occasioned by the raising of standards.
