We look towards the fall with a continued resolve to create new and exciting programming for you.
We've partnered with Career Services on a monthly Career Webinar Series. Join us for our first event with Gayle Allen (Ed.D. '08) on September 29. Are you interested in being our next alumni speaker? We want to hear from you. You can still connect with Career Services at our Breakfasts and our Networking Nights throughout the year.
We also want to remind you to update your information. Did you get married, get a promotion, move, publish your memoirs or create a new app - or know of an alumnus/a who did? Let us know. Or if you know of an alumnus/a deserving of a Distinguished Alumni or Early Career Award, please nominate him/her today as the deadline is quickly approaching on September 4.

The deadline for Distinguished Alumni & Early Career Awards nominations is quickly approaching! These awards are the highest honor bestowed on TC Alumni by the Alumni Association and we invite you to nominate TC graduates who have distinguished themselves in their fields. Have they earned high respect among their colleagues and the general community, and is their impact is felt on a national or international level? Recent graduates who have graduated within the past 10 years, have earned distinction in their field, and who demonstrate further future potential will be honored with the Early Career Award. Do you know an alumnus or alumna who meets these criteria? Nominate him or her today!

Abrupt Departure, a sculpture by Judith Peck (M.E. '75) (above), has been included in the forthcoming NEXUS Exhibition, an international juried fine art show, September 13 - October 8 at the Arts Guild of New Jersey in Rahway.
City Abstract, art by Andrew Buck (Ed.D. '15) (above) was also accepted into the Huntington Arts Council's Juried Art Exhibit "Driven to Abstraction."

 Join The TC Community Choir
The TC Choir provides a space for TC and Columbia community members to come together in song. We sing (click on image, left) a diverse array of music, drawing on the musical interests and expertise of all our members. We seek to engage all levels of experience, providing growth opportunities for all through vocal training, collective singing, shared leadership, and joyous performances at TC and in the community. Music will be taught in multiple ways; reading music notation is not required. In early October, LEO, the Spirituality Mind Body Institute Wellness Center at Teachers College will re-open! LEO, within the Spirituality Mind Body Institute (SMBI) at TC, is the foremost, Ivy League, spiritually integrated wellness center for graduate training. Their innovative offerings are grounded in the science of spiritual life--promoting inner work for outer change. LEO offers a developmental space within the multiple disciplines of TC and spiritually integrated work that is accessible to all, and establishes vibrant spiritual communities that nurture the individual to serve the whole, as well as spiritually oriented weekly groups and periodic guest workshops. Meet the Firms
 Meet the Firms Networking Event returns on Thursday, September 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at TC. This event, hosted by Career Services, is for students and alumni to network with professionals within their field to learn more about Human Capital, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Human Resources Leadership, Mediation/Conflict Resolution, traditional Human Resources Functions and Consulting positions. In addition, students and alumni will learn about competencies specific employers look for and strategies to pursuing employment. Although some employers will be recruiting for specific positions, this is not the only focus of the event. This is an opportunity for students and alumni to broaden their network by connecting with employer representatives. Register via TCCS Link. |

TC Professor of Education Leadership and Adult Learning & Leadership, Ellie Drago-Severson, published Leading Adult Learning: Supporting Adult Development in Our Schools.
You can hear from the author (and Jessica Blum-DeStefano, Co-instructor at Columbia University's Principal Academy and Adjust Instructor at Bank Street College of Education) during Leadership Institute for School Change: Advancing Your Practice of Supporting Adult Development. This 2-day interactive workshop provides participants the chance to dive even deeper into the theory and practice of supporting adult development (both others' and our own) in our schools and organizations.
