To get there, they had to survive the rigors of the CBS reality show “The Amazing Race” (they were eliminated while attempting to harvest Vietnamese oyster baskets), outlast the Defense of Marriage Act and agree to disagree about green vegetables. But the rewards were great: TC's Dr. Ruth attended the festivities, and President Obama and the First Lady sent congratulations, responding to a thank you from the happy couple for all they have done for marriage equality.
