PBS's MetroFocus Features TC's Certificate in Creative Technologies Program
WATCH Schools Get Creative With Technology (MetroFocus)
MetroFocus, a PBS show that covers New York City news for the tri-state area, produced and aired a segment devoted to TC's new Creative Technologies Concentration and Advanced Certificate Program in Creative Technologies. The five-minute story, which aired on February 18, was shot in the Myers Media Arts Studio and "Fab Lab" and features long interviews with TC's Professor Judith Burton, Associate Professor Richard Jochum, and several art and technology TC students.
They describe and talk about the purpose of the concentration and certificate programs for art and art education students who want to learn to use and incorporate new technologies, such as lasers and 3D printers, in the teaching and making of art and to poise students to lead the integration of creative and emerging technologies in art, technology, and education. CTC engages students in reflective learning and integrated studio practice, while participating in national and international communities to advance interdisciplinary, technology-infused approaches to art and art education.
