TC Study on the Value of Recess Cited by Washington Post

 

A March 8 story in the Post's Parenting Newsletter about the value of recess as "a social and emotional break from being told what to do," cites a study by Teachers College, which found that "44 percent of U.S. elementary-school students living in poverty have no recess at their schools, compared with 17 percent of those from families above the poverty line."
