Sam Abrams, Director of the National Center for the Study of Privatization in EducationIn a book review in the New York Review of Books, the education historian and TC alumna Diane Ravitch (Ph.D. '75) writes that "given the near-complete absence of public information and debate about the stealth effort to privatize public schools, this is the right time for the appearance of two new books on the subject." One of those books, which Ravitch calls "an elegant analysis of the workings of market forces in education," is Education and the Commercial Mindset, by Samuel E. Abrams, Director of TC's National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education.
