Responding to Hurricane Harvey
Our hearts go out to everyone who is suffering and struggling as a result of Hurricane Harvey. As we mourn the loss of life, we are mindful both of the immediate dangers and hardships facing tens of thousands of displaced families and individuals in Southeast Texas, and of the long-term challenges of rebuilding.
Many of you are already working to help the people of Texas and Louisiana recover from the destruction and flooding, and others have asked how you could help. While there are many giving options, a list of local and national charitable organizations published by the New York Times may be a place to start.
As we closely follow rescue and recovery efforts in the weeks and months ahead, we will explore ways for Teachers College to render our expertise and assistance where we can be most effective.
