Dear TC Community Members,

I hope all who celebrated Diwali this year had a joyous holiday, and for those of you who are far from home and loved ones, I hope this special time of year has still brought you comfort and light.

For more than 2000 years, Diwali, the Festival of Lights, has united celebrants across the globe. The holiday has diverse significance for different religious groups, but the triumph of good over evil and the hope for a prosperous future are universal themes of the holiday that we all may honor.

As our academic year continues, let us take the lessons of Diwali with us. May we confront injustice in the world by looking to the light, learning from our history, and striving to build a prosperous future for everyone.
