Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of John Saul as TC’s new Director of Institutional Research, effective today, January 15. In this role, John will oversee a comprehensive institutional research program to support college-wide planning, assessment, internal and external reporting, and data governance and accreditation while advancing the use of data in TC’s long and short-term strategic planning process.
A valued member of the staff at TC for more than a decade, John possesses a wealth of administrative and scholastic experience as well as insight into TC’s institutional goals and culture. John joined TC as the Director of Enrollment Management Technology in June 2014, after spending nearly two decades at Drew University engaged in Information Technology work, specializing in Administrative Technology and Business Intelligence. He transitioned to the Institutional Research team in Spring 2015, leveraging his knowledge of the Banner database to streamline and enhance reporting capacity of the department. While working in Institutional Research, John pursued and completed his second M.S. in TC’s then newly formed Learning Analytics program. He also holds an M.S. in Management Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University.
In his role at TC, John has designed and developed multiple reporting and audit systems to ensure that TC faculty and staff have the information they need to make timely decisions. He has standardized and streamlined the IPEDS reporting for Enrollment, Degrees and Financial Aid, freeing up resources for more complex analysis. John has also been a driving force behind the expansion of self-service reporting for Academic Departments in both Argos and Tableau, and his work has helped identify data/process issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
With John’s wide-ranging expertise and commitment to Teachers College's mission and goals, I know that he is well prepared to take on the crucial role of Director of Institutional Research. Please join me in warmly congratulating John Saul and wishing him every success in his new role at Teachers College.
Sincerely,
