Share Your Story Through Film
Have you recently participated in a TC study abroad program or are you preparing for an upcoming one? Submit a 90-second video addressing the theme "Learning to Heal: Education’s Role in Conflict and Reconciliation" and showcase how your global journey has contributed to meaningful learning and change. Participants have a chance to win exciting prizes, with awards of up to $1,000!
Why Participate?
Studying abroad opens doors to transformative experiences, introducing new perspectives, cultures, and connections. This film festival is your opportunity to creatively share how your international adventure has impacted your life and made a difference. Your film could include personal stories, interviews, action shots, or reflections. Whether thought-provoking, inspiring, or entertaining, the possibilities are endless!
Winning entries will be featured during Teachers College’s first International Study Abroad Film Festival in March 2025.

Eligibility
- Current Teachers College students who participated in a study abroad program.
- Participants must submit original video content related to their study abroad experience.
Submission Guidelines
- Length: Videos must not exceed 90 seconds.
- Format: Submissions should meet professional quality standards for sound and visuals and must be formatted for YouTube uploads.
- Audio: Only use original, licensed, or free-to-use music and sound. Copyrighted material without proper licenses will result in disqualification.
- Theme: Videos should align with the theme "Learning to Heal: Education’s Role in Conflict and Reconciliation".
How to Submit
- Fill out the submission form and include your video’s title in the following format: EntryTitle_FirstName_LastName. Example: GlobalConnections_Jane_Doe.
- Upload your video link along with all required information (e.g., audio licenses) by the deadline: February 10, 2025, at midnight. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Judging Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on:
- Creativity and storytelling
- Alignment with the theme
- Visual and sound quality
- Overall content and organization
Prize winners will be notified during the film festival in March, 2025. Selected films will be screened during the Film Festival and may also be featured on Teachers College’s website, YouTube channel, and social media platforms.
Legal Terms and Conditions
- Original Content: All video entries must be the creator’s original work and should not have been previously submitted or awarded in other competitions.
- Appropriate Content: Submissions must not infringe on the rights of others or contain inappropriate material.
- Ownership and Rights: Participants retain copyright ownership but grant Teachers College a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute the video for marketing and educational purposes.
- Publicity Release: By submitting, participants agree to allow Teachers College to use their name, likeness, and biographical details in connection with the video.
