Each year, TC NEXT hosts a variety of career fair-style events focused on job, internship, and on-campus student employment positions. At these events, expect to connect with hiring managers to learn more about their organization and its open opportunities while introducing yourself, dropping off your resume, and building your professional network.

TC NEXT’s annual series, Learn & Connect, combines a quick lesson on a career development topic (past examples include stand-out resumes, effective salary negotiation, and building your network) with a panel featuring a Q&A with employer partners. These employers will give advice to job-seekers and on the event’s topic, and also present information about open roles at their organization. Learn & Connects conclude with some open networking time so attendees can connect with both the employer partners and their fellow peers in attendance.

We understand that getting ready for an interview can be an overwhelming task, and we’re here to help! Our signature Mocktails & Mock-Interviews event allows students to practice common interview questions in a cocktail party-like atmosphere with non-alcoholic beverages. Our virtual interview days provide students with a 1:1 meeting with a TC alum or employer partner to practice common interview questions and receive on-the-spot feedback.

TC NEXT administers the Provost’s Grant for Conference Presentation and Professional Development, an award for students who have presented or attended professional conferences over the past year. The Research Expo is our chance to celebrate these students and their accomplishments, showcasing their original research and sharing their tips for other students interested in presenting at a conference.

Each semester, TC NEXT hosts a free event for students to obtain a professional headshot to use on their LinkedIn, website, bio, or other professional sites. At this popular event, students can also meet with career coaches and discuss best practices for their LinkedIn profiles while waiting to have their headshot taken.
